Purpose:
To formally recognize and highlight the election of Dr. Marsha Anderson Bomar as 2026 President-Elect of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)—a leadership role that aligns with ICSDI’s mission to advance sustainable infrastructure, innovation, and global engineering excellence .

  • Dr. Anderson Bomar will serve as ASCE President during the 2025–2026 term, following her official induction at the ASCE 2024 Annual Convention in Tampa Bay .
  • She is the Transportation Strategic Advisor at GHD and a former Commissioner of the Atlanta Department of Transportation.
  • Her career spans public service, entrepreneurship (founder of Street Smarts Inc. and Data Smarts), and academic leadership, culminating in a 2024 Ph.D. in Environmental Planning and Design from the University of Georgia.
  • She is also a Fellow of ASCE and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and was featured in ASCE’s Changing Our World: True Stories of Women Engineers.

Context within ICSDI:
While ICSDI itself is not an appointing body, it features Dr. Anderson Bomar alongside other global leaders—such as H.E. Dr. Margarete Schramboeck (Board Member, Aramco Digital) and Dr. Naveed Sherwani (CEO, National Semiconductor Hub, Saudi Arabia)—to underscore its commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration in sustainability, digital transformation, and technological sovereignty .
